Martin Čermák

 

Martin grew up in fuel soaked area, his father was a professional driver and also liked motorcycles When Martin was 15 years old his parents bought him Mustang 50 and his father participated in adjusting it to a trial special. Martin gained his first riding experience on a cyclist and motorcyclist trial. The following few years he somehow abandoned his interest in motorcycling and he returned to it when accompanying his childhood friend Martin Kuzma in his initial stage. 
He rode in the Austrian agency in 1998 and only a year later his was successful for the first time. His huge success came in the Czech town of Ceske Budejovice in the Stocksport class where he won field position and placed himself third in the competition evaluated M-SR. He also experienced his first fall when exceeding the speed of 200 km/hour and crashing into tire barriers. His motorcycle was absolutely damaged to such extend that it could only be written off but he came out absolutely scotch free.

Martin rode on Yamaha R1, in 2000 where he gained his first title of Slovak Champion. His ensuing successes started to roll one after the other. He started to appear in competition Alp Adria in the following few years occupying leading ten positions. His next important title M-SR was won in 2002. Having achieved this titled he decided to retrieve gradually from the competition.  He spent several ensuing years riding only in agencies and gained few successes when taking part in scooter competitions 

When in 2007 „Čermo“ appeared in Trencin to reminisce his old racing days, where the competition “Race for Fun” was taking place  he was somehow overwhelmed by the sight of motorcycles, no sooner could he realize he possessed a new motorcycle Suzuki replacing his grandma Yamaha that had won him two former titles. Apart from taking part in already mentioned competitions he joined the series of FRES-Racing Cup,  where he competed only from time to time nevertheless with success in the competitions of M-SR. A huge success came in 2011 when he became the Champion of the Czech Republic in the Endurance category, where he was riding together with Peter Jaroš and  Peter Duchyňa. Wherever he appeared good mood did just as well, what’s more one could hardly overlook his excellent performance on the racing track, where he happened to stand out among the younger competitors.
He has been a coach of really talented children at the children Junior Moto Academy since 2012.
